Voluntary Benefits
Additional coverage for unexpected medical costs.
Coverage is available for you, your spouse or domestic partner, and dependent children.
These plans pay a lump sum cash benefit to use however you like. Benefits are paid directly to you unless you assign them to someone else.
Accident Insurance
Accident insurance helps protect from unexpected financial stress that comes with accidental injuries. The benefit amounts depend on the type of injuries you have and the medical services you need, but covered events include:
- Emergency room visits
- Surgery and anesthesia
- Prescriptions
- Major Diagnostic Testing
- Burns
- And many more
Critical Illness Insurance
Critical illness insurance can protect against the financial impact of certain illnesses, such as a cancer, heart attack (myocardial infarction), stroke, end stage kidney disease, major organ failure, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, non-invasive cancer, Alzheimer’s, and skin cancer.
Hospital indemnity insurance
Even with medical plan coverage, a hospital stay can still be costly. Hospital indemnity insurance can help offset your share of the cost associated with hospitalization due to accidents and sicknesses, including specific amounts for:
- Admission to a hospital
- Intensive Care Unit stays
- Hospital stays
- Inpatient Rehab Unit stays (accidents only)
Keep in Mind
On their own, these plans don’t provide comprehensive medical coverage for your day-to-day health care needs. They’re intended to supplement the coverage provided by your medical plan.
